Bristol motorcyclist suffers minor injuries in Sunday afternoon crash

    BRISTOL — A Bristol man sustained minor injuries Sunday afternoon, June 16 after crashing his motorcycle just north of the city limits.

    According to a release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Douglas Shaffer, 24, was traveling northeast on C.R. 25, north of C.R. 102, at 12:26 p.m. Sunday when he swerved to avoid a deer.

    Shaffer’s motorcycle went off the east side of the road and hit a fence. He was taken to Elkhart General Hospital to be treated for non-incapacitating shoulder, arm and neck injuries.

    No citations were issued.
