Three sent to hospital after Wednesday morning crash near Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY — Three people were sent to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries after a two vehicle crash just north of Middlebury Wednesday morning, May 22.

Justice Ratliff, 22, of Goshen, was driving southbound on Lovejoy Drive and approaching C.R. 4. Robert Scrogham, 36, of Middlebury, was driving westbound on C.R. 4. Ratliff continued into the intersection to turn left onto C.R. 4 when the front of Scrogham’s vehicle struck the driver’s side of Ratliff’s vehicle.

Ratliff was sent to IU Health Goshen Hospital to be treated for pelvis and lower abdominal pain. Scrogham was transported to IU Health Goshen Hospital for a broken ankle. A 5-year-old passenger in Scrogham’s vehicle was also transported to IU Health Goshen Hospital for abrasions on his forehead and arm.

Ratliff was cited for failure to yield right of way at the intersection.
