Man injured in Elkhart County motorcycle accident

ELKHART — A man was taken to the hospital after an accident on the far-west side of Elkhart County on Saturday, March 30.

Cpl. Ray Warren, with the St. Joseph County Police Department, said a 54-year-old man was riding a motorcycle north on County Line Road near C.R. 24 at a high speed when he lost control.

He hit a mailbox east of the road and was thrown from the motorcycle upon impact. The man and motorcycle landed west of the road. Warren said the back wheel of the motorcycle flew off and struck a power line.

The man was taken to Elkhart General Hospital to be treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Baugo Township EMS and Penn Township EMS also responded to the scene.
