ELKHART — Members of Elkhart Police Department’s Drug Unit closed down a Marathon gas station at the corner of Hively Avenue and Prairie Street during what appeared to be an execution of a search warrant Thursday, Feb. 28.

A single police vehicle was parked at the entry of the store and the doors at the store were locked while police searched inside and took pictures. Inside the store, an officer was holding what looked like a package with synthetic marijuana.

The gas station was closed around 3 p.m. for more than an hour before reopening.
