NAPPANEE — A 1-year-old boy suffered only a minor injury in a two-car crash Saturday afternoon north of the city.

Christal Woods, 20, of Nappanee, was driving south on C.R. 3 at about 4 p.m. Saturday when she ran a stop sign at the intersection with C.R. 46, according to a news release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department. Her car hit a car driven by Jacqueline Macias, 26, of Plymouth, in the intersection.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Woods’s passenger, a 1-year-old baby boy, had a minor scrape on his face and a cut inside his mouth. Woods refused medical treatment for the baby. No other injuries were reported.

Woods was cited for disregarding a stop sign.
