ELKHART — Terry Rodino broke the silence this morning, Nov. 14, acknowledging in a press release the recent police investigation of allegations made against him and denying them.

Rodino is subject of an ongoing criminal investigation that stemmed from an incident that occurred Oct. 29. According to a source familiar with the investigation, the investigation involves Rodino for alleged inappropriate sexual activity.

According to the press release, Rodino acknowledged the nature of the allegations but he said he firmly denies them. He mentions that he is also conducting his own investigation.

“While police authorities have not shared details with me, our own investigation into the motives of the allegation is in process,” he said in the press release. “I will vigorously defend any such charge or allegations that are being made.”

He said he does not expect to make any more comments related to the investigation.

Elkhart County Prosecutor Curtis Hill said in a press release Monday that he asked that a special prosecutor be appointed to review the case. Elkhart Circuit Court judge Terry Shewmaker appointed Allen County Prosecutor Karen Richards to review the case.

So far, the Allen County prosecutor has not responded to her appointment.
