GOSHEN Man appears in court for initial hearing

Devarious Cantrell, 22, of 1600 Prairie St. Elkhart, appeared for his initial hearing Thursday morning at Elkhart County Circuit Court.

Cantrell was arrested last Friday in connection to a shooting that had occurred that day, in which a 30-year-old man was injured in the thigh.

The judge entered a plea of not guilty for his charge of conspiracy to commit murder, a Class A felony. Cantrell is scheduled to appear Thursday, Nov. 15, for an attorney status conference. His trial date is set for Feb. 18, 2013.
