Elkhart County $SUBT_ON$Crash sends 3 to hospital with injuries$SUBT_OFF$

Three people were sent to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries after a car crash Wednesday.

Three Elkhart County residents were sent to IU Health Goshen Hospital and Elkhart General Hospital with injuries after a two vehicle crash at C.R. 17 and C.R. 18, two miles south of Elkhart, around 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7.

Kathleen Bauer, 82, of Bristol, was headed north on C.R. 17 and was in the left turn lane to turn west on C.R. 18. Maria Diaz, 42, of Goshen was traveling south on C.R. 17, approaching C.R. 18. Bauer turned west bound onto C.R. 18 and crashed into Diaz’s car head on.

Bauer was transported to IU Health Goshen and was treated for a fractured ankle. Her passenger, Diane Jones, 60, of Elkhart, was also transported to IU Health Goshen and treated for neck pain.

Diaz was transported to EGH and treated for right leg and hip pain.

Bauer was cited for a failure to yield to the right of way.
