RV lovers can take a step back in time this weekend at the South Bend/Elkhart KOA campground in Granger.
From Thursday, July 25, through Sunday, July 27, the campground is expecting about 80 vintage trailers to camp in the seventh annual Vintage Trailer Rally.
Campground operator Patricia Schenk said the public is welcome to an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 26. Visitors will be allowed to tour the trailers and meet their owners. There also will be a vintage soda pop tasting, and this year’s theme is Christmas in July.
"There are very different stages to buy a vintage trailer," Schenk said. "You can buy a remodeled one or you can do the grunt work by yourself. It doesn’t take a rocket science degree to understand a trailer. There is not much that you couldn’t do by yourself at home in your workshop, but it needs a little fantasy, bravery and good taste to decorate them and fulfill your dream."
The campground is located at 50707 Princess Way in Granger, off S.R. 23.
