Those looking to hit the road and enjoy the outdoors after a long, miserable winter can view a wide array of recreational vehicles beginning Thursday, April 24, at the second annual Spring Hall of Fame RV Show.
Seven of the area's top dealers will display more than RVs of all types at the RV/MH Hall of Fame, east of Elkhart.
"The show offers a tremendous opportunity for buyers to see and compare different models from many different manufacturers," said show director Matt Rose, director of RVs with the Recreation Vehicle Indiana Council. "We'll have everything from smaller, very light towables to about 15 Class A motorhomes. There's something out here for everybody."
Rose said area dealers asked the RVIC to coordinate the first show last year after enjoying "exceptional" sales at the South Bend show in January and Fort Wayne show in early February.
"They did extremely well and wanted to do one more show before they got busy on their lots," Rose recalled.
Sales at last year's Elkhart spring show were strong enough to do it again this year. The number of dealers has increased from six to seven, they've brought about 50 units each, up from 20 to 30 last year, and the show is four days this year instead of three.
This year's dealers will be Total Value RV, NeXus RV, Gurley Leep Motorwerks, Phoenix USA, Indiana RV Connection, Tiara RV Sales and Services, and International RV Wholesalers.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults. Kids 15 and younger are free.
Visitors will receive $3-off coupons for the Hall of Fame Museum, which normally costs $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and groups of 14 or more, $7 for kids age 6 to 18, and kids 5 and younger free.
