Wholesale shipments of all recreational vehicles continued to rise in January but at a slower pace than last year, the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association announced Friday, Feb. 28.
Shipments of 25,467 units was 4.5 percent greater than January 2013 and the best January total since 2007. Severe weather across the country affected the ability to build, ship and sell new product in January this year and there is confidence of even better results in the coming months, the RVIA said.
Towable RV shipments grew to 22,199 units in January, 1.8 percent better than a year ago. Motorhomes were up 26.8 percent on shipments of 3,268 units, raising this category to 12.8 percent of all RV shipments this month.
