Many years ago, when my brother-in-law was in grad school at IU, my wife and I made a stop at Bloomington Brewery. Unfortunately, they were not yet open for lunch, so I missed out. However, now they are releasing their first bottled beer - Rooftop IPA (American IPA, 7.4% ABV) in 22 oz. bombers.
The only other beer that BBC has ever bottled was a 500 bottle run of B-Seven Bourbon Barrel Belgian Brown, that was a limited release at the Bloomington Brewpub at Lennie’s, and a few other bars and restaurants around Indiana. The release of Rooftop IPA bottles is set for early next month, beginning on Saturday, April 5 at noon. Big Red Liquors North College Ave location will host a release party, and it will also be available at other Bloomington area Red Liquors stores as well. The rest of the state should see distribution by June.
Rooftop took the gold medal in the IPA category at the 2013 Indiana Brewers’ Cup, one of the largest craft beer competitions in the country. This category is one of the largest and most competitive at any beer competition, and with so many IPAs from other Indiana breweries, this is quite an honor.

Bloomington Brewing Co. was the fourth modern-era brewpub in the state and the first in Southern Indiana
