Hop Notes and Better World Books giving away books about beer

Visit Better World Books during Goshen's First Friday for a chance to win a book and a Bell's Brewery mug

Posted on March 7, 2014 at 9:27 a.m.

During Goshen's First Friday on March 7, I am teaming up with Better World Books to celebrate March - Beer Book Month.  We have several books to give away including another one that just arrived from the publisher.  The Great Northeast Brewery Tour by Ben Keene will introduce the reader to sixty two of the most incredible breweries in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington, D.C.

New England and the Mid-Atlantic are home to some of America’s most interesting craft breweries including Dogfish Head of Delaware, Allagash Brewing of Maine, Smuttynose Brewing of New Hampshire, Brewery Ommegang of New York, Troegs Brewing of Pennsylvania, and Hill Farmstead Brewing of Vermont.

Brewery profiles include interesting facts about each brewery and its history, along with useful information like directions, nearby accommodations, and local dining options that highlight craft beer. Full-color photography accompanies each profile, and sidebars throughout the text provide supplementary information on tasting methods, beer styles, and more.

Starting around 6:00, I will be on hand at Better World Books to chat about the books that are available through the drawing, as well as many more beer books in stock at the book store.  To read a review about my favorite beer book, Locally Brewed, click here.

The Constant Spring will have a Bell's Tap Takeover on Friday, March 14, so I will have plenty of Bell's stickers on hand for you as well.  And as an added bonus, I am throwing in one of the mugs that I make for Bell's Brewery in addition to a book to the first name drawn.  We will start drawing names around 8:30, and I believe that we have about 5 books total to give away.  Come out to enjoy First Friday, put your name in the drawing at Better World Books, head next door to the Spring to enjoy a beer, and then come back to see if your name was drawn for a prize.  Sounds like an excellent Friday night to me.
