Burger bracket contest to pick best burger from seven counties

A new contest will pit burgers from seven counties against each other.

Posted on March 28, 2014 at 2:42 p.m.

A contest is starting to select the best burger in northern Indiana.

The Northern Indiana Tourism Development Commission is calling for submissions for the best burger in seven northern Indiana counties from Porter to LaGrange, including Elkhart County. Denise Hernandez of the Elkhart County Convention and Visitors Bureau asked for some help.

My task, and therefore your task as a Dining A La King reader, is helping pick the eight burgers from Elkhart County that should be part of the voting.

We have a week to submit eight burgers worth telling the region about. I'll gather the responses and pass on the best ones.

I love the burgers at Heinnie's and Constant Spring. But the contest, which will be a bracket-style voting system, is asking for specific burgers.

So please, please help by passing along your best burger and which restaurant serves it. The restaurant must be locally owned and unique to the region.

You can email me or use this handy web survey.

When the time comes, we'll tell you how to vote in the contest as well.
