The Dunlap location of Wings Etc. could open the week of March 17, according to a company spokeswoman.
Janet Minton, manager of marketing support for the chain, said the date is subject to change, but they're hoping to get open around St. Patrick's Day.
Construction has been going on for a number of months at the new Wings Etc. Grill & Pub. The city of Goshen annexed the property northeast of Meijer along U.S. 33. When Robert Hensmann, Wings Etc.'s executive vice president of operations announced the new restaurant in April, he said it could be open by the end of the 2013.
That didn't happen, but so did a lot of weather that wasn't anticipated. It appears construction workers have been making steady progress.
The new location will be about 4,000 square feet. The building across the parking lot, which piqued the interest of a number of readers, is a mattress store.
The company also announced that it will partner with Muscular Dystrophy Association at all its locations through March 31. Diners eating at the 18 Wings Etc. locations in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and South Carolina will sell green and gold shamrocks for $1 and $5, respectively. Funds will go to MDA programs and research, including efforts at Elkhart General Hospital, according to a press release.
Wings Etc. began in 1994. Founder Jim Weaver started the restaurant.
