Sauk Trail adding lunch to mix

The barbecue restaurant in Elkhart has been working on lunch for a while and is now ready to serve it to you.

Sauk Trail on 17 now has lunch.

The Elkhart barbecue restaurant at 56039 Parkway Ave., Elkhart (off of C.R. 14 and C.R. 17) is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to owner Ray Stults, who has been working for several months to make it happen.

The restaurant also change its nighttime hours from opening at 4 p.m. to opening at 5 p.m. So the restaurant's hours are now 11 to 2 Monday to Friday and 5 to 10 p.m. (or whenever the last customer leaves) Monday to Saturday.

Lunch just started and is focused on sandwiches and samplings, he said. The comments have been positive, but the effort is off to a slow start, he said. New lunch customers are being given a $5 gift card for a second visit as well, Stults said.
