Miles Lab is again fighting heart disease with a month-long fundraiser.

The burger bar on the east side of Elkhart at 3763 E. Jackson Blvd. is doing a variety of events to benefit the American Heart Association, but the biggest is a GoRed Dinner starting at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22.

Owner Mike Miles said he's collected prizes that will be given to winners of tip boards sold that night. Food and drink specials will be available too. And $3 from each order of Mediterranean shrimp or ahi tuna will go toward the cause all month.

In addition, Chip and Summer Lewis of Iechyd Da Brewing Co. donated a GoRed beer to the restaurant, so all proceeds from the sale of that beer will go to the heart association.

Last year's event raised about $3,000.

Mike and Christy Miles are collecting the donations because of how the disease touched them. Christy's mom Jackie Logan died from heart disease.
