Elkhart Perkins closed due to weather damage
Snow caused a leak in the dining room of the Elkhart Perkins.
The roof fell in at the Perkins Restaurant & Bakery on the north side of Elkhart.
Water poured into the dining room after a drain pipe in the roof burst, according to manager Sandi Crocker.
Crocker said that the restaurant at 107 North Pointe Blvd., Elkhart, was closed Tuesday and will be Wednesday, Feb. 5, but could be open as soon as Thursday.
She said the warm temperatures and then another freeze caused the pipe in the roof to burst. Water damage inside the building is being repaired.
