Dyngus Day 2014: Knights of Columbus is getting ready to serve Polish fare with a side of politics

Dyngus Day is all about the Polish food and politics, and the Knights of Columbus is getting ready for your helpings of each today. Plus, an update on Monday night's Pitch & Pull event at Iechyd Da Brewing Company.

The kitchen at the Knights of Columbus hall in Elkhart are hot as cooks prepare traditional Polish fare for its annual Dyngus Day celebration.

For $8.50, you can get a plate of Polish sausage, pierogi, noodles with chicken gravy, sweet and sour cabbage and boiled eggs.

Lunch and dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski is expected to stop by around 11:15 a.m.

Also, if you haven't reserved a spot at the Pitch & Pull event at Iechyd Da Monday night, you're too late. The event is officially sold out and no walk-ups will be allowed. The Elkhart Truth's Marshall King will emcee the event with Kyle Hannon of the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce.
