Last month, a cafe opened next door to the Granger Farmers Market that takes advantage of its location by serving up dishes made with fresh, locally grown ingredients, our news partner WNDU reported.

Local Foods Bakery and Cafe’s menu features a variety of breakfast and lunch options, as well as baked goods. The restaurant’s goals are to showcase area farmers and provide customers with local foods at a good price – most dishes cost between $3-5, WNDU reported.

Marianne Christy, who co-owns the cafe with her husband Mike, has been cooking around the area for years, WNDU reported. Before arriving in Granger, she ran Christy’s Bakery in Edwardsburg and sold her cookies commercially at Niles Culinary Incubator.
