ELKHART — The new restaurant that will assume the space formerly known as Mad Anthony’s at 526 S. Main St. now has a name.

Steve Hill, who will operate the restaurant with his brother, Frank, said the eatery will be called Cubby Bear Pizza.

The family-style restaurant will include a separate bar for adults. Owners hope to be open for business in early April, Hill said.

Hill said he plans to retain the original red movie theater facade, but would like to add a scrolling LED sign.

Hill originally confirmed plans for a restaurant several weeks ago, but held off on announcing the name until Thursday.

Hill’s announcement came during a news conference hosted by representatives of SoMa at the Lerner Theatre Friday morning, Feb. 14.

Food is prepared at a past beer dinner hosted by LaSalle Kitchen and Tavern.
