GOSHEN — Almost 270,000 people attended the 2014 Elkhart County 4-H Fair.
Ticket-takers counted 269,064 visitors during fair week this year.
That’s slightly less than last year’s attendance total of 280,175, but still the second-highest attendance in the last six years.
The fair board uses a manual counting system. Volunteers at each entrance gate count incoming visitors daily.
The 2014 fair week broke records for auction sales and food sales. The 4-H members raised $1,160,342.28 this year at the 4-H livestock auctions.
