The final day of the 2014 Elkhart County 4-H Fair will celebrate feats of motor prowess — from motorcycle races to the Demolition Derby.
If you plan to attend Saturday, July 26, there are a handful of activities you might want to catch before festivities end.
Motorcycle races begin at 11 a.m. at the Grandstand. If you want to catch the action earlier, check out the practices at 10 a.m.
The Nation-Wide Demolition Derby rumbles around for Grandstand crowds at 7 p.m. Cars will smash into each other, attempting to knock other drives out of the competition.
A handful of cook-offs take place throughout the day, Saturday. The Byler Leinhart Cook-Off takes place at 11:30 a.m. at the 4-H Lamb Barn. The Best of Michiana Ribs Contest takes place at noon at the 4-H Lamb Barn. Registration for both contests opens at 9 a.m.
The Great Homemade Ice Cream Crank-Off Contest begins at noon at the Home & Family Arts building. Registration begins at 10 a.m.
Want to see rockets fly? The 4-H Rocket Launch takes off at 9:30 a.m. south of Gate 6.
Motorcycles and derby clunkers aren’t the only automobiles at the fair. Check out the Corvette judging contest at the 4-H Swine Barn from noon to 6 p.m.
Say goodbye to the 2014 fair with a Mad Bomber Fireworks display at the Grandstand at 9 p.m.
Saturday morning will be welcomed by scattered showers or thunderstorms and temperatures in the high 70s, according to AccuWeather.com.
Showers are expected to continue throughout the evening. Temperatures will rise to 85 degrees in the afternoon and fall into the low 80s in the evening, according to AccuWeather.
