The seventh day of the Elkhart County 4-H Fair is perfect for thrill-seeking fairgoers who would rather spend their fair experience on the midway than by the concession stands
If you plan to attend today, here are some of the activities going on that you might want to catch.
Thursday, July 24, is wristband day, which means fair attendees can ride an unlimited amount of rides between 1 and 11 p.m. for the price of one $22 wristband.
Wristbands will be sold until 9 p.m., and pre-sale ride vouchers will still be accepted throughout the afternoon.
Tractor Pull Day kicks off in the Grandstand at 8 a.m. with the Farmstock Tractor Pull and again at noon with the Lucas Oil PPL Tractor & Truck Pull, which continues throughout the day into the evening. Grandstand seating for the tractor pulls is free.
The Master Gardener theme for the day is fruit tree growing beginning at 1 p.m. in Ag Hall with a discussion of planning and varieties, and ending with a discussion on pruning at 4 p.m.
It’s a big day for lambs with a 4-H lamb costume contest in the 4-H Lamb Barn at 10 a.m. and a lamb obstacle course at 4 p.m. in the lamb barn.
Judging for the llama costume contest is at 2 p.m. in the Beef/Dairy Arena.
The IU Health Goshen Plaza theme for the day is women’s health. There will be fitness demos in yoga, Pilates and Zumba from noon to 1 p.m.
Be sure to check out the 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Finals at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Slam Dunk Contest at 8:30 p.m. at the basketball courts.
Expect near-perfect summer weather Thursday, with highs expected to be in the mid-70s in Goshen throughout the day, according to AccuWeather.com. Temperatures are predicted to dip into the mid-60s after 9 p.m., according to AccuWeather.
