Here are the six candidates for the 2014 Elkhart County 4-H Fair Senior Queen. The pageant is 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 18, at the grandstand.

Judy Yoder has owned and operated Lotions & Potions for 16 years.
Judy has been a member of the Shipshewana Retail Merchant Association (SRMA) for the past 16 years. She is currently the liaison for the SRMA membership committee and serving her second term on the board of directors. Judy says she has always enjoyed working with the public.
Judy enjoys walking, exercising, gardening, reading and cooking. She especially loves spending time at the beach.
She is married to Lester Yoder, and they have two children and ten grandchildren.

Linda Tunks is the program director at CET International. She is active in Second Chance Small Dog Rescue, a local bowling league, and Word of Life Teens Involved. As an active church member, she has been a church youth group leader and Sunday school teacher. She has also been a 4-H Project Leader as well as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader.
Tunks enjoys scrapbooking, bowling and participating in activities with children. She has traveled to various countries including South Korea, China, Yugoslavia and Switzerland. Tunks loves spending time with family and friends and participating in her grandchildren’s activities.
She has been married to John Tunks for 45 years. They have one daughter, two grandchildren and 58 international sons and daughters (exchange students).

Velma Lechlitner is a member of the auxiliary of Elkhart General Hospital, where she works in the gift shop and makes blankets for the sewing department. Velma is heavily involved at Wakarusa Missionary Church and helps wherever is needed.
She enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends and family. She and her six grandsons love riding around the woods in her pink golf cart. Velma stays busy sewing, quilting, crocheting and doing many other crafts.
Lechlitner is sponsored by her family, which consists of her three sons and daughter-in-laws. She was married to Dennis “Bear” Lechlitner before he passed away in January 2013.
Mary Jane Miller

Mary Jane is a retired nurse who used to work at Golden Living Center and Greencroft. She is a member of the Clinton Frame Mennonite Church where she played bass guitar on the worship team and serves on the hostess committee.
Mary Jane enjoys walking on the treadmill, traveling to historical and scenic places and spending time with her family. She is a member of the Willie Miller Family Band, a band that provides entertainment for events such as the Shipshewana Mayfest and various church services. They have previously provided Senior Day entertainment at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair.
Mary Jane Miller is married to Willie Miller. They have four children and ten grandchildren.

Rosalie Bontrager has been involved with the Elkhart County Extension Homemakers for 40 years. Bontrager loves meeting new people and keeps herself busy by working four days a week at Essenhaus Inn and Conference Center. She also enjoys sewing, reading and listening to music. Rosalie is involved in church activities, community bazaars and various fashion shows.
A special highlight in her life is when she was able to donate one of her kidneys to her son 27 years ago. This act is one of the many ways Rosalie helps others with her gifts and talents.
She and her husband Wilbur have been married 54 years. They have three children, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Roberta Webb was a 10-year 4-H member and has passed her love of 4-H to future generations through her children and grandchildren. Webb works in the treasurer’s office during the fair and is in her 26th year working as a banking officer at First State Bank. She is a member of Credit Professionals International and served as vice president and secretary in past terms.
Webb enjoys reading, watching Hallmark movies, collecting patriotic items and going to the fair to watch her grandchildren show their livestock. She attends Trinity Lutheran Church and is a lifetime member of DAV Women’s Auxiliary.
She is married to Jim Webb. They have two children and six grandchildren.
