An exhibit of live stingrays the Elkhart County 4-H Fair had booked earlier this year won’t be coming to the fair after all.

An equipment breakdown caused the people running the stingray exhibit to cancel most of their appearances at events this summer, according to Kristy Ambrosen at the fair office.

Instead, the fair is bringing in a traveling kids’ museum called Kidz Science Safari featuring 14 interactive science stations, according to the fair blog.

The mobile museum from the University of Texas is designed to help kids learn about science through fun activities.

Stingrays could make an appearance at the 2015 4-H Fair, fair organizers said in a press release.

It will be at the Jayco Family Fun Center and it will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day of the fair.
