Harold Zeigler Ford Lincoln in Elkhart is building a larger showroom that will include new amenities aimed at improving the customer experience.

The new showroom, targeting an Aug. 1 opening, will be 40 percent larger than the recently demolished previous showroom at 2525 Bypass Road, said Aaron Zeigler, president of Kalamazoo, Michigan-based Zeigler Auto Group.

The new showroom will include a children's playroom, a cafe serving warm cookies all day long, a customer lounge with flat-screen televisions, iPads for customers to use, and a business center with computers and work stations for customers.

"People like doing business in really nice facilities and they like having the latest amenities while they're buying cars," Zeigler said. "We want to give people an exceptional experience at the dealership and give them lots of things to do."

Zeigler said the company, with 18 dealerships and 45 brand franchises in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and New York, bought the Elkhart dealership in 1995 and rebuilt the showroom in 1997.

Zeigler said he initiated the upgrade, unlike some dealerships who have been forced by Ford Motor Co. to renovate.

Eby Ford Lincoln, 2714 Elkhart Road, Goshen, also recently renovated its showroom, adding a new service drive and upgraded facade.
