The Greater Elkhart Chamber's Young Entrepreneurs Academy participants will pitch their business plans to potential investors Thursday night.

Students will present nine ideas to a panel of local business people in hopes of capturing some of the $5,000 or more available to fund start-ups. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at the Elkhart Area Career Center, 2424 California Road.

The YEA connects area high school students with community and business leaders to prepare business plans, obtain financial support, and develop brand identity. The chamber offers the in-depth program annually, and at the completion of the course, students have fully functioning business enterprises recognized by the state of Indiana.

More information on the program is available at www.elkhart.org.
