Lippert Components looking for 300 new workers at hiring event

There will be a hiring event in Goshen Wednesday, where Lippert Components is looking to fill 300 jobs. The jobs being filled will pay $9 to $12 an hour.

Lippert Components Inc. is looking to fill 300 positions at a hiring event Wednesday, March 19 at The Old Bag Factory in Goshen, state employment officials announced Monday, March 17.

Elkhart County's unemployment rate in January fell to 6.2 percent, down from 6.7 percent in December, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development announced Monday.

Positions available at Lippert include splice line welders, jig welders and finish welders in the chassis department, and the following jobs in the warehouse and assembly areas: managers, supervisors, fork-lift operators, cycle counters, maintenance workers, janitorial workers, glass pickers, saw operators, parts benders, hole punchers, framers, vinyl applications, cleaners, assembly, preppers and primers, according to a statement from Work One, Indiana's employment agency.

MBC Group Staffing and Logistics will conduct on-site interviews. Some positions require no experience, and the company will train those interested in learning welding.

The jobs pay $9 to $12 an hour, depending on experience.

The hiring event runs from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at The Old Bag Factory, 1100 N. Chicago Ave.
