Insurance, fund-raising professionals plan upcoming meetings

Insurance agents and fund-raising experts have professional development meetings planned.

Insurance Professionals of Northern Indiana

MISHAWAKA — The Insurance Professionals of Northern Indiana will host guest speaker Dave Aker of Flags International for its monthly meeting and lunch.

Aker will give a presentation called “The Genealogy of the American Flag.”

The meeting will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at Riverside Terrace, 426 Lincolnway E., Mishawaka.

The event is open to professionals in all lines of insurance.

Michiana Chapter of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals

SOUTH BEND — The Michiana Chapter of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals will present a luncheon seminar titled “Capitalizing: Moving Beyond the Annual Campaign.”

The speaker will be Matthew Lentsch, executive director of the Oaklawn Foundation. Lentsch will discuss the relationship between annual and capital campaign and fund development strategies.

The event is at noon Tuesday, March 18, at the Hilton Garden Inn, 53995 S.R. 933 N., South Bend.

To make a lunch reservation email afp@afpmichiana.org no later than Thursday, March 13. Reservations will not be considered confirmed until courtesy replies are sent.

Cost to attend is $18 for AFP members and $25 for non-members.

Payment can be made online via credit card or by mail with a check (payable to AFP Michiana Chapter) to P.O. Box 63, South Bend, IN 46624. Cash and checks can be accepted at the door.

LOGAN Center

SOUTH BEND — LOGAN Center will host the 2014 Nose-On Luncheon Tuesday, March 25, at the Century Center.

The event features Sarah Kay, founder and co-director of Project V.O.I.C.E., an educational youth organization that encourages self-expression through spoken-word poetry.

The luncheon will be hosted by Maureen McFadden, news anchor at WNDU-TV, and the honorary chair is Andrew T. Berlin, owner of the South Bend Silver Hawks.

Cost to attend is $35 per ticket, which is tax-deductible. Reservations can be made online at www.logancenter.org/NoseOn.
