September RV shipments climb 18.6 percent
Wholesale RV sales rose 18.6 percent in September 2013 over September 2012, according to a report from the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association.

ELKHART — Recreational vehicle shipments showed steady growth this September, making September 2013 the industry’s best September in six years.
RV wholesale shipments rose 18.6 percent over the same month last year to 22,498 units, according to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association’s September 2013 market report.
The industry’s strongest growth was in type-C motorhomes, where shipments jumped by 82.3 percent over last year with 1,373 units.
The shipments of all motorhomes totaled 28,941 units, up 46.3 percent over September 2012.
Shipments of motorhomes so far for 2013 reached 28,941 units, up 36.2 percent from the first nine months of 2012.
Total shipments of towable RVs were up 9.8 percent compared to this point last year, with a total of 219,682 units.
Conventional travel trailers lead all vehicle sales, representing six out of 10 RV shipments in September and increased 19 percent over last year with 13,541 units.
