LIGONIER — An automotive supplier wants to add another 100 employees to its 600 existing employees in Ligonier, the company and WorkOne announced Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 24.
The company is rolling out a new product line for Chrysler.
“This is an exciting time for folks to join Tenneco and get in on the ground floor of a brand new product launch,” said Doug Bonecutter, plant manager. “We’re pleased to expand our workforce here in Ligonier. An increase of this size creates promotional opportunities for both existing and new employees.”
They have three hiring fairs planned in Kendallville in conjunction with WorkOne. The first is Saturday, Sept. 28, followed Oct. 19 and Nov. 9.
Tenneco makes clean-air products such as mufflers and catalytic converters for Chrysler and Ford, and it is looking for employees who have high school equivalency. The company is willing to train employees on special skills, and needs machine operators, welders, material handlers and equipment set-up operators.
The wages for the full-time jobs start from $13 to $14.50 per hour, with increases every six months until top pay is reached, according to the company.
The first job fair will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the WorkOne career center at 524 Fairview Blvd., Kendallville. People can apply for the jobs before and after Saturday’s hiring fair at the Kendallville center or at the one at 936 W. 15th St., Auburn.
