First State bank

GOSHEN — Denny Davis has joined First State Bank as a mortgage loan originator.

Located at the Goshen office, Davis will be responsible for originating conventional, FHA, VA, construction and other mortgages for purchase, construction and refinance in the Elkhart County Region.

Davis has 14 years experience in mortgage origination, and prior to that had 10 years experience as a realtor and real estate broker.

The Institute of Internal Auditors

SOUTH BEND — The Board of Governors of the Michiana Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors gathered recently to thank Michele Sullivan for her two years of service as chapter president.

During her tenure, the Michiana IIA was awarded the 2013 Gold Chapter designation for service to members and the profession by the international IIA.

Sullivan is a partner at Crowe Horwath, LLP, specializing in risk consulting for financial services. Sullivan served as chapter vice president prior to 2011, and will remain on the chapter’s board. Richard Fair of Trinity Health will serve as president in 2013-2014.


SOUTH BEND — Alison Christensen has joined Gibson as a client manager in the Business and Private Client Group, specializing in commercial property and casualty accounts.

Christensen is responsible for designing risk management and insurance programs for small business owners. Prior to joining Gibson, Christensen worked for a local insurance agency for 12 years in personal insurance, small business and surety bonding.

Christensen brings many years of specialized experience working with small businesses to provide value and quality protection through the process of marketing, servicing and renewing policies.

Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center

MISHAWAKA — Pamela Henderson has been named chief strategy and marketing officer for the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) health system.

Henderson has served as vice president of marketing and public relations for SJRMC since 2010. In this new role, Henderson will act as a strategic partner to Albert Gutierrez, SJRMC CEO and president, and the senior leadership team to develop, implement, and sustain short and long-term organizational initiatives to position SJRMC for the new era of healthcare.

Henderson will oversee the activities of all staff that provide evaluative and analytical consultation to leaders across the corporation on strategy, marketing, business and capital planning. Henderson brings with her more than 30 years of experience and extensive background in strategy and marketing, both in for profit and not-for-profit sectors.

During her career, Henderson has had executive leadership appointments in the automotive, health insurance and hospital industries, including Ford Motor Company, the University of Michigan Health System and Trinity Health.

ELKHART — The Indiana Funeral Directors Association awarded Steve Peterson a 40-year pin at its 133rd annual convention.

One of three directors to receive this distinguished honor in 2013, Peterson is president and director at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral & Cremation Center.
