Women’s rights focus of chamber lunch
ELKHART — The Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce Women’s Council plans a networking luncheon with the theme “Political Rights — A Woman’s Battle
Where We Are Today.” The luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Lerner Crystal Ballroom, 410 S. Main St.
Leading the discussion will be Dr. Elizabeth Bennion, associate professor of political science and campus director of the American Democracy Project at Indiana University South Bend. Bennion will provide a history of the women’s movement in securing the right to vote and give a glimpse at what has, and has not, changed regarding women’s political rights.
