St. Joseph County police will set up sobriety checkpoints this weekend

The checkpoints meant to target drunk drivers will be set up Friday, Aug. 1, and Saturday, Aug. 2.

Police across St. Joseph County will be cracking down on drunk driving this weekend, according to our reporting partners at WNDU.

Sobriety checkpoints will be set up on the northeast side of South Bend and southwest side of Mishawaka between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, and Saturday, Aug. 2.

Indiana is one of 38 states that conducts sobriety checkpoints, according to the Governors Highway Safety Association.
