The South Bend Tribune will soon be delivering all Elkhart Truth newspapers under a new partnership between the two companies.

Currently, the Tribune prints The Elkhart Truth and delivers it in St. Joseph County and Michigan locations while The Elkhart Truth delivers papers in Elkhart County locations.

But starting July 30, distribution of Elkhart Truth newspapers will be handled by the South Bend Tribune.

Nine Elkhart Truth circulation employees including district managers and warehouse staff will become employees of the South Bend Tribune, according to Chuck McKinnon, audience development director for The Elkhart Truth.

Paper carriers currently contracted with The Elkhart Truth will be re-contracted by the South Bend Tribune within the next several weeks.

This change is a cost-savings move for The Truth, and it also enables The Truth to focus more on sales, marketing, promoting its product and “providing the customer service our great customers deserve,” McKinnon said.

Truth subscribers won’t see any immediate changes in the delivery of their paper.

The same carrier will still deliver the paper and subscribers can still call the Elkhart Truth customer service number (574-522-7777) if they don’t receive a paper.

McKinnon said this new partnership will bring improvements to Elkhart Truth delivery over time.

CLARIFICATION: This article has been slightly modified to further clarify the distribution agreement between the two companies.
