Firefighters respond to fire along Old. U.S. Highway 33 west of Elkhart

Traffic on Old U.S. Highway 33 is closed in both directions.

The Baugo, Concord and Cleveland township fire departments responded to a building fire on Wednesday at 28827 Old U.S. Highway 33.

The Baugo Township Fire Department responded to a call about a reported fire at the Quality Paint & Prestained Finishes Inc. building at 8:22 p.m. on April 9. Flames were seen coming out of the building's roof when crews arrived, according to Capt. Jim Ward of the Baugo Township Fire Department.

Ward said the cause has yet to be determined. The fire departments left the scene at 10:44 p.m.

Traffic on Old U.S. Highway 33 was closed in both directions and has since been reopened.
