New South Bend facility to offer carpentry, vocational training
A new training facility in South Bend will help people learn new trade skills, such as carpentry.
The Monroe Circle Community Center opened the facility on Saturday, as reported by The Elkhart Truth's news partner WNDU.
It will be the new headquarters for Carpenter's Hands, a volunteer group that is run by Granger Community Church. They assist individuals in South Bend's work release programs, but Carpenter's Hands also offers training to others who are interested.
A socially-conscious community member donated the property to the center.
