Three officers join Goshen Police Department

GOSHEN - Two new officers officially joined the Goshen Police Department Monday, Feb. 24 with the possibility of a third joining them soon.

The Goshen Board of Public Works and Safety approved the hiring of Randy Valderrama and Kyle Kalb as probationary patrol officers retroactive to Friday, Feb. 21.

Valderrama had been a deputy with the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department for the past five years.

Kalb had been a Goshen reserve officer for almost two years and previously had been a reserve officer in Bristol.

The board also approved the conditional hiring of Alexandro Rosales as a probationary patrol officer.

Rosales must pass the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) physiological and physical exams and must be approved by the local pension board before he officially joins the department.
