More snow, cold weather on its way to Northern Indiana

ELKHART — Don't put those winter coats and snow shovels away just yet.

More frigid weather and snow are on the way to Northern Indiana, according to the National Weather Service. A winter weather warning was issued Saturday, Feb. 1, for snow, some sleet and freezing rain. The weather caused several events in Elkhart County to get postponed or canceled. Icy roads and vehicle slideoffs were reported throughout the area.

The weather forecast for Sunday, Feb. 2, includes a slight chance of snow before 7 a.m. The day will be mostly cloudy and cold with a high temperature near 20 degrees. The temperature will fall to around zero at night, with wind chill as low as -5 degrees.

Monday, Feb. 3, is expected to be sunny and cold, with a high temperature near 19 degrees and a low around 1 degree. As the week continues, the National Weather Service predicts that another winter storm is likely to hit northern Indiana with heavy snow Tuesday, Feb. 4.
