Missing South Bend woman was found safe, police said

SOUTH BEND – Heidi Jones, a South Bend woman who was reported missing and potentially in danger Friday morning, Jan. 17, was found safe, the South Bend Police Department said.

This morning, Jones called a relative to say she needed help, our news partner WNDU reported. He or she called the police, who were dispatched to the 500 block of East Monroe Street in South Bend. The apartment, located in Karl King Riverbend Tower, was found empty and had evidence of blood spatter inside.

Information regarding Jones' whereabouts during the period she was reported missing was unavailable as of 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17.
