Benefit planned for Elkhart man fighting brain cancer

The benefit will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Feb. 1 at VFW Post 88.

Friends of Garry Stump and his family have organized a benefit to help with medical bills and expenses in his treatment for terminal stage four brain cancer.

The benefit will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Feb. 1 at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 88, 1519 W. Bristol St. Among the activities scheduled for the benefit are a silent auction, raffles, food, two live bands, a stand-up comedian and activities for children.

Supporters have also started the Facebook page “Prayers for Garry” to support the family.

Stump is a 56-year-old Army veteran from the Elkhart area.
