Elkhart County’s recipients of Meals on Wheels will have to wait at least one more day for the hot-meal delivery service to show up at their homes.

The service, which is handled by the Salvation Army of Elkhart, Elkhart General Hospital and The Window in Goshen, was at varying stages of operations Wednesday, Jan. 8, as the region still battled cold temperatures and slick roads.

Due to the weather and road conditions, The Window was not delivering meals on Wednesday. The agency plans to resume delivery Thursday, weather permitting.

The Salvation Army of Elkhart was taking bags of groceries to clients Wednesday, but planned to return to delivering hot meals Thursday.

Elkhart General has not yet responded to inquiries about its Meals on Wheels services.
