ELKHART — Your afternoon fast food fix may be the latest casualty of this week's winter storm.

One local McDonald's found its bun supplies dangerously low Tuesday, Jan. 7.

The McDonald's restaurant at 130 N. Main St. was due to receive a shipment of sandwich buns Monday, but the store was closed, said manager Michael Mitchell.

On Tuesday, with barely any bread on hand, employees reached out to other McDonald's stores for help.

The McDonald's on Cassopolis Street sent over “a few trays of buns to keep ourselves going,” Mitchell said.

Mitchell said a bun delivery truck was expected to arrive at some point Tuesday.
