GOSHEN — Are you interested in helping second-graders practice reading?

Goshen Community Schools and the United Way of Elkhart County are offering reading camps to 20 children at Model, Waterford, West Goshen and Parkside elementary schools from Feb. 5 to March 28.

Volunteers can participate every Tuesday and Thursday from 3 to 4 p.m., or help out just one day of the week. Those interested will go through a limited background check and participate in a training session the last week of January.

This Oct. 22, 2014 photo provided by the United States Geological Survey shows the front of a lava flow with numerous smoke plumes arising from active breakouts burning vegetation at the flow margin, near the town of Pahoa on the Big Island of Hawaii. The growing stream of lava threatening homes is expanding and speeding up as it heads toward the small rural town. Officials say the lava advanced nearly 460 yards from Thursday morning to Friday, Oct. 24, 2014. (AP Photo/U.S. Geological Survey)
