20 percent chance of snow in Elkhart Friday
ELKHART — A massive ice and snowstorm moving through southern parts of the nation will reach into central Indiana, but northern Indiana is expected to escape any serious weather conditions.
Elkhart County will see a 20 percent chance of snow Friday, Dec. 6, and temperatures will range from 18 to 27 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Winds will be 10 to 15 mph.
Indianapolis is expected to see rain and sleet Thursday, changing to snow after midnight. Total accumulations of snow are expected to be several inches with more further to the south.
Forecasters expect the brunt of the storm to stretch from Dallas to Cincinnati, bringing with it a wintry mix that will include a strong chance of an ice storm.
Elkhart County’s forecast for Saturday includes partly cloudy conditions and temperatures ranging from 17 to 24.
Sunday will include a chance of snow through the day and night. Highs will be near 27.
