ELKHART — Local government offices will close for two days this week for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Elkhart County and city offices in Elkhart, Goshen and Nappanee will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29. The offices will reopen Monday, Dec. 2. The Tolson Center, run by the city of Elkhart, will also be closed both days.

The Interurban Trolley and the Interurban Trolley Access ADA Paratransit Service will not pick up passengers in Elkhart and Goshen on Thanksgiving, Nov. 28. Regular service will be available Friday. Both services are operated by the Michiana Area Council of Governments, or MACOG. For more information call 674-8894 or visit interurbantrolley.com.

Waste removal services will also be affected by the holiday.

Because Allied Waste Services, Borden Waste Away and Michiana Recycling and Disposal are all closed Thursday, customers with regular pick-ups on Thursdays and after can expect a one-day delay in waste removal.

Waste removal schedules will then return to normal next week.
