Miss Elkhart County competition to be held Sunday

Winner will compete for Miss Indiana in June

GOSHEN — Twelve young women will vie for the title of Miss Elkhart County Sunday, Nov. 17, at Goshen Middle School.

The Miss Elkhart County Scholarship Program will begin at 4:30 p.m. when contestants will begin showcasing their various talents.

The program will be co-hosted by Miss Indiana 2011 Jackie (Jerlecki) Sharpley and her husband, former Notre Dame quarterback and current host of Notre Dame radio on 96.1 FM and 960 AM WSBT, Evan Sharpley.

Miss Indiana 2013 Terrin Thomas and Mekayla Diehl, Miss Indiana USA and Miss Elkhart County 2011, will also be in attendance as special guests.

The individuals competing for the Miss Elkhart County crown are Kaylee Kercher, 19; Julianne Whyte, 18; Elise Goodman, 21; Mackenzie Klahr, 20; Jordan Enfield, 18; Gracie Lyons, 22; Michaela Piatt, 19; Carrie Shank, 20; Jessica Gorden, 17; Michelle Williams, 20; Alyssa Dellinger, 18; and McKenah D'Arcy, 17.

The scholarships for the Miss Elkhart County program are funded by donations from Elks Lodge #425.

The winner of the Miss Elkhart County crown will have the opportunity to represent the county and a chance to become Miss Indiana, which will be named in June 2014 in Zionsville.

Goshen Middle School is at 1216 S. Indiana Ave.
