GOSHEN — Mayor Allan Kauffman is urging residents to rake leaves as soon as possible rather than waiting until all leaves have fallen, which can slow down city crews.

Leaf piles can freeze, leading to flooded streets, Kauffman said. He said that most homeowners are punctual with raking leaves, but wants to remind landlords to pay close attention to their properties.

He also said that we may be running out of nice weekends to rake.

Residents are reminded not to mix brush with leaves. They can deposit brush in the city’s environmental site off of C.R. 19, north of Wilden Avenue.

For more information contact the mayor’s office at 533-9322.

Seminarians gather outside the chapel on the grounds of The General Theological Seminary after morning prayers, Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, in New York. More than two-thirds of the faculty at the seminary, one of the nation’s oldest, most venerable religious institutions that trains ministers of America’s Episcopal Church, say they were fired earlier this week after going on strike to protest their dean’s leadership.
