GOSHEN — Nearly 30 volunteers consisting of parents, students, staff families and two staff members spent their weekend installing a new piece of playground equipment at Jefferson Elementary School.

The apparatus was set up on Friday, Nov. 8, and the volunteers attached the pieces to the main frame and moved more than 100 yards of mulch on Saturday, Nov. 9.

The project was paid for by the Jefferson PTO and the school.

Dave's Lawnscaping, Four Star Rental, Aquatic Weed Control, the Jefferson Fire Department and Spring View Farms donated time and equipment. A representative from the playground equipment company was on-site to ensure the installation was safe and met regulations.

First-grade teacher Cameron Baber led the project and took his class out to play on the apparatus Monday morning, Nov. 11.
